Product Overview

Flexible and Heat-Resistant Non-Combustible Textile

FlamEL® Black X is an inherently non-flammable, non-combustible fiber product that holds its form even in extreme heat above 1,000°C, and can be used in apparel, gloves, and more. With an excellent hand-feel and mechanical stability, it is a non-combustible fiber material optimized for firefighting supplies and industrial sites.

FlamEL® Black X is a non-flammable, non-combustible fiber fabric that holds its form above 1,000°C. With a refined surface and hand-feel, it serves as a non-combustible material for protective clothing, fire blankets, and many industries.

Recommended Processing

  • Textile converting (fire blankets, apparel, gloves)
  • Direct bonding or adhesion to fabric and other substrates

Available Forms

  • Rolls in a range of specifications

FlamEL® Black X Features

  • Non-combustible fabric: Inherently non-flammable fiber - flame does not spread on direct contact
  • High heat resistance: mechanically stable at high temperature - holds form and structure above 1,000°C, with almost no distortion or collapse
  • Extreme flame resistance: a structural heat shield - a porous carbon structure blocks heat transfer and suppresses the movement of thermal energy
  • Non-toxic / eco-friendly: safe on fire contact - on combustion, emissions beyond a trace of CO₂ are extremely low, safe for people and the environment
  • Premium surface finish: a dedicated silane finish for hand-feel, durability, soil resistance, and comfortable use
